Pulling Weeds

Nana has gotten Marika addicted to pulling weeds in the garden.

Notice Marika carrying 2 brooms.  That's because Quinn makes everyone sweep and entertain her.  

Got bored of the weed pulling.

Faster!!! Faster!!!!!

On a side note Marika's dad actually told us that what they were pulling out of the ground was actually the grass itself and not weeds.  This St Augustine hybrid grows grass off of running tendrils, which is what was being hand weeded.  Oops.

Women

She knew exactly what to do when she got her hand on a wallet.

Long Beach Aquarium

We took little Schmoops to the Long Beach Aquarium for a day out!  

They had a pretty cool penguin enclosure, but Quinn didn't think much of it. 

She's funny, even with all the stingrays and halibut in the tank 

she usually finds kids the most interesting animals.

Clapping is about excited as she gets when she's away from home.

She did think the Stingrays were pretty cool.

She was kind of impressed but not too impressed, she doesn't like to be too emotional in public. 

She did give the stingrays a pretty good stare down though

And she thought the Penguins were pretty cool too.

The Garden

She loves our little vegetable yard.

It took awhile to teach her not to pick the green blueberries and the green tomatoes but she's usually pretty good about it now.  Which is good, since we don't have an everlasting supply of veggies in the yard...

She was having a contemplative moment after her time in the yard.

The fruits of her labor!!!  You can see they're not all red...but at least there's only 1 green one this time...
