Saturdays at the Grove

Our saturday trips for monday donuts always turn into trips to the grove.  If the trolley ran earlier or if  Nordstroms opened earlier we'd probably never make it home.   She's been asking for new pink jellies for a while now...

Butterflies!

We mail ordered some caterpillars and they finally turned into butterflies.

And this was the big release!

It was pretty awesome.

But not all the butterflies wanted to be free yet.

So back inside and little Quinners fed them so they'd be strong for the next release.

Success!  After a nights rest they all went on their way delighting the little missy.

Sofie Dance

She loves her dance class.

They have a blast and all the kids are so good about listening to directions.

And she's learning all sorts of moves.

Not sure what this one is

Or this one

Tired!

This is Rikki on the left  (Shayne's Mom...see pic below, Shayne and Quinn) and Marika with the Madonna lace headband
Marika is a few months older than Rikki

Evie,

Do send some photos of Marika at the Obon Festivals of past years.
I love "historic" photos  :)

Mama, It's a princess!

Lately at LACMA there have been many high schoolers taking their Prom pictures.  Quinn saw this pretty girl on the way to the bathroom and would not stop looking and following her.  She told me in a whisper voice, "Mama, it's a princess."  We followed the girl outside.  Without Quinn hearing, I told the girl that Quinn thought she was a princess.  The princess, who looked like Ariel, was so sweet to ask if Quinn wanted to take a picture with her.  Quinn said "yeaahh" and shyly walked over to the princess.  Quinn had no qualms about the princess picking her up and proceeded to smile for the camera.  As the princess and prince drove away in their Honda Civic, with the princess' mother as the chauffeur, Quinn waved goodbye and so did the princess.  Such a sweet and innocent moment.
